May the 4th... 2015? (Lvlnd pt2 wk#18)

Hi awesome people!! :)

First... I was totally in this library a year ago... I have spent almost the entirety of the last year in the Loveland, Colorado area! It's been exciting. I was transferred to Loveland the last week of April 2014 and now it's May 2015 and I'm still here!! haha. Somehow 5 weeks have passed again and transfers are coming up on Monday (not Tuesday due to a meeting, so I might not be able to email until next Tuesday).

Hopefully you have had a great week! I don't know what it is about me, but I don't remember most of the week... but I do remember two cool miracles yesterday and a scripture that I read this morning! Enjoy!

So there has been a guy aged 19 named Kellen who has been coming to church almost every week for the past nearly 2 months (so about 5-6 times). He invited himself somehow to church because a girl he likes who is in his geology class is a member. She didn't invite him. It's been interesting... We haven't been able to meet with him because he works full time and goes to school full time, so we just talk to him about the Gospel for a little bit after church when we can. He pulled us aside before church yesterday and said that he stayed up all the last night and wants to start meeting with us after the school year (aka in 1 week)! Yay! Sometimes I have wondered, "Should I push harder extending invitations for him to meet with us?" I am glad that I didn't. I'm glad that the missionaries didn't for me! We are excited for the opportunity. We even invited him then to read some, but he felt like he didn't have time this week. However, the Sunday School class was about scriptures. After church he texted us asking what he could read. :)

Also, we have been meeting with a couple people almost every week after church for a couple months helping them practice to become missionaries. Mainly it is with Angele and her friend Hailey. Sometimes we meet at Angele's house and her brother Alijah and sister Anastasia join. Alijah specifically said multiple times in January and February that he has no interest in becoming a missionary. But yesterday (this being about the 4th time he has joined us), expressed an interest in going!! Super awesome! I'm glad that we made the effort of spending time with him. We didn't ask him, "Are you interested in becoming a missionary?" or tell him, "It is your responsibility to be a missionary, don't you know! You gotta go!" We just had him join with his two sisters and Hailey in practicing teaching the Gospel to each other most Sundays. I was DEFINITELY hoping that would happen and I had faith it would if I kept giving him the opportunity to teach. Unexpectedly, he is a really good teacher! He was the best yesterday. It was impressive!

Lastly, something I learned this week. I was pondering about 3 Nephi 18 in the Book of Mormon. It is a chapter that talks about Jesus Christ sharing the Sacrament - breaking bread and sharing wine - with his disciples. He says to them, "And behold, ye shall meet together oft; and ye shall not forbid any man from coming unto you when ye shall meet together, but suffer them that they may come unto you and forbid them not; But ye shall pray for them, and shall not cast them out... and whosoever breaketh this commandment suffereth himself to be led into temptation." (v. 22, 25). I tried 3x just now digging deep into this scripture, to no avail. I just thought about trying to be more loving and accepting of people - allowing them to join with us and not cast them out. But that is exactly what it says... haha. So ya. Suffice to say I like that scripture. It was good to be reminded that we need to really show love to people and minister unto them.

Have the best week of your entire life!!!

Sincerely,
Elder Jeff Campbell
